Theme Day: Favorite place of the city

This is hardest Theme Day theme since I participate in them - how the hell can I choose one most favorite part of Riga, when there are so many beautiful, charming places? I decided to come up with one of my most favorite places - and it seems I won't be original here, because many Rigans would recognize it as one of the nicest places to hang out for a view on the city. It's a riverside area at Swedbank highrise from where you can spot the Old Town's (and also Zaķusala island) panorama. Once I experienced strong emotional impulse here by looking on the old towers - although many cars made sounds from the bridge and opposite bank of river, it seemed like I felt the old, medieval atmosphere which these church towers literally radiates... I imagined 13th Century, when the merchant ships came here on Daugava river waters and these towers were the first sight they saw of Riga. It was amazing feeling, and the main reason why I choosed exactly this spot for the Theme Day.
