Soviet commieblock facade decorations



Here is the answer to the question of previous post - as one of comment authors almost precisely pointed out, it's the decoration of 9-floor commieblock balconies in Purvciems district. We are used to think that commieblocks are purely functional, ugly and brutal buildings which were built without any regard to some aesthetic qualities. But just look at these tiles - I can't imagine how they've been made but it's been an incredible work - this is just one balcony, but there are literally thousands of such balconies! [full_width]

  3. Shot is really nice, but the tiles don't make me more want to live there. These buildings are ugly as the whole soviet-union.
