Latvia have parliament elections this Saturday. This morning main PM candidates discussed their proposals and answered to audience questions in Social sciences faculty of Latvia's University.

Lots of white men in suits ;-) Are there many women or black or ethnic minorities standing for election too?

ReplyDeleteThere are too few black people in Latvia so they don't have their candidates.
But there are many Eastern-Slavic people (Russians, Ukrainians, Belorussians) and their representative is a guy with microphone in last picture. About the women - it's interesting that least amount of womens are exactly in that minorities' party. In other parties there are quite many women, but none of them is a PM candidate.
Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteAs I'm informed, two of those guys are not nominated as PM candidates, I mean Rasnačs and Dolgopolovs.
of course, they aren't. Not all parties were able to delegate their real candidates.
