 Middle part of Stabu street. In overall, the centre of Riga isn't very attractive place to live - heavy traffic, noise, pollution, run-down streets and buildings. But the middle part of Stabu street has developed as one of few exceptions - one of those "pockets" where  living in Riga centre could be regarded as desirable. Traffic is lesser here (it's a one way street), trees separates the street from pavements, pavements got renovated few years ago, also most of the buildings are in quite a good shape there. The nice atmosphere of the place is created also by many cosy cafes and small shops. By adding a bicycle lane, the street could be made even better - and it's clearly visible that there is enough space for that, the cars can easily use one lane.

 Stabu ielas vidusposms. Kopumā Rīgas centrs nav dzīvošanai pievilcīga vide - intensīva satiksme, troksnis, piesārņojums, nolaistas ielas un ēkas. Taču Stabu ielas vidusdaļa izveidojusies par vienu no retajiem izņēmumiem - vienu no tām "kabatiņām", kur dzīvošanu Rīgas centrā varētu uzskatīt pat par iekārojamu. Satiksme šeit, vienvirziena ielā, ir mierīgāka, starp ielu un ietvi iestādīta koku josla, ietves nesen tikušas renovētas un arī ēkas šeit ir diezgan labā stāvoklī. Labu pilsētvides atmosfēru rada arī daudzās omulīgās kafejnīcas un mazie veikali. Vēl te pietrūkst velojoslas, kas ielu vērstu vēl draudzīgāku cilvēkam - tiešām nav saprotams, kāpēc Rīgas dome to nav vēlējusies ierīkot, jo redzams, ka no transporta kapacitātes un telpas viedokļa tas noteikti būtu iespējams - automašīnām pilnībā pietiktu ar vienu braukšanas joslu.
