Torna street and Aldaru street corner

 Torna street and Aldaru street corner. A long long time ago this place was an outer border of Riga - by standing here you would be outside the city walls, outside it's fortified core. People would have thought of us as weirdos, if someone back then had show them this photo from future - "Why the hell you have left just a hole in the place of one of city gates (Swedish gate)?? Do you think that those few low stone pillars would secure you from invaders? Or maybe you have installed a very sophisticated trap there?" 

  Torņa un Aldaru ielas stūris. Sensenos laikos šī vieta bija Rīgas ārējā robeža - stāvot šeit, vērotājs atrastos jau ārpus pilsētas mūriem un to sniegtā nocietinātā patvēruma. Toreizējie ļaudis padomātu par mums kā par pilnīgiem dīvaiņiem, ja kāds viņiem parādītu šo foto no nākotnes. "Kāda velna pēc jūs vienu no pilsētas vārtiem vietā esat atstājuši tikai caurumu? Jūs tiešām domājat, ka tie daži zemie akmens stabiņi aizsargās jūs no uzbrucējiem? Varbūt esat ierīkojuši tur smalkas lamatas?"
