Recently renovated Lāčplēša street 55 is a very interesting, different building in Riga centre built-up. It's one of largest wooden buildings in Riga (supposedly largest one-floor wooden building in the city). At first I thought it's some manor house, but actually it was built as a school back in 1820, and is a school still today. Interesting, the renovators didn't wanted to connect the building with city's central heating system, but choosed to continue with good old wood heating. Romantic!
