Gogoļa iela 9 - Vissvētās Dievmātes pasludināšanas pareizticīgo baznīca

This colorful Orthodox church situated in Gogoļa street is built from wood in 1818. It's surrounded by trees that's why it's hard to make a complete photo of it, so here you see 2 parts of it.

  1. hello - I got lost down here last year.....didn't know that this was a church and didn't realise that this was "Moscow Suburb" which is clearly why I didn't feel all that safe. I had come back from Tukums on the train (why anyone would go there I can't tell you but it was an interesting day out) walked out the wrong door at the train station and followed the stalin wedding cake tower........without having any idea where I was....and thought I was back in Traralgon VIctoria Australia with all the "bogans"...later that night lost in the old town a tourist policeman had to put me on the right tram. Interesting week in Latvia....need to see it again.......
